The House That Kohinoor Built

Kyiv 2025
The surface— the foundation of knowledge on which the house stands, my principles and beliefs that characterize me, on which my ideas stand.
The walls of the house— my doubts that keep the ideas inside, preventing them from getting lost in space.
The roof— my confidence, my final word, standing on principles, preventing the downpours of despair and pride from seeping inside.
That house is built for me by myself, for I am its owner, its guest, and its prisoner.
The exhibition features three series of works. The mini-series "Three Days of Gong Beating from Morning to Night" refers to Mao Zedong's policies and their tragic consequences for the population. In the "Sun" series, four large-format canvases in the genre of dark surrealism reveal the Sun as a symbol of life and death, beginning and end. The "Interlude" series echoes the exhibition's manifesto, exploring personal fears, attempts to go beyond the usual, and the repetition of these trials.
During the exhibition setup, two installations were created with the addition of soil. One is a wooden house symbolizing the comfort zone in which the author resides. The other is a cross made of willow charcoal, symbolizing dedication to art and its significance for the artist.
The exhibition is multimedia as each work is accompanied by a video prologue that captures the change in the author's perception of art. The opening and subsequent exhibition were also accompanied by a video sequence created by the artist to better reveal the main theme of the exhibition.
